The food was delicious and the buffet had a variety of unique textures and flavors that I had never experienced before. The service was fast and the staff is soooo friendly! I walked in to pick up my take out order and the owner already knew my name! The next day we went there for their lunch buffet....again, a great meal and a great way to try more selection. Mr. Singh was extremely friendly and introduced me to some of his family members. You really feel like family when you eat at this resturant. I highly recommend it! "

With that said, India House has surpassed any experience I've had with Indian cuisine! My husband, mother-in-law and I all agree it was excellent food and service. We had the chicken tika masala, chicken korma and a lamb dish that I cannot recall the name of. It's a family owned and operated business. The father himself greets you as if you were a family memeber and is very kind and courteous. He's also very good at convincing you to add an additional basket of butter naan! :) This is definitely a place we will frequent as the entire experience was fabulous! Because it is family run, the service is very relaxed: so sit back, enjoy the ambience and savor every bite! "

This Indian man, his wife and sons lovingly craft traditional fare with surprisingly complex, aromatic flavors for the guests they treat like visiting relatives. As a person who has eaten much Indian food, both good and marginal, I attest to the authenticity and quality of India House's offerings. My very picky brother went back to the buffet twice, and my foodie father said, "Wow, this is really a find." The compliments don't get any better than that, India House. (By the way, I was not bribed or paid to write this, and I don't have any connections to this restauraunt or their family. I was just so surprised at the good eats and service that I wanted to make sure these folks get the ratings they deserve!)"

From the minute I walked in I was taken aback by the beautiful presentation of the restaurant. Every nook and cranny was decorated with extremely tasteful Indian decor that whisked me away to the North of India in Spring. This is an example of what Feng Shui should be. The elegant buffet line was accented with beautiful serving dishes and in an order that clearly took some time to create. The man who greeted us was a kind strong man, 8 feet tall if he was 4. Yet he had an extremely nice persona and soft hands that reminded me of those of my grandfather when I was a child. He sincerely thanked us for coming in and presented us to our table aka throne. I almost felt uneasy with the exceptional care that was taken, I now know what it feels like to be a prince. Now the food. Again upon entering my palette was treated to a dance of fresh basmati rice hinted with Indian curry and herbs. I was lost in my mind for a moment as if by some magical force I had been transported to the southern region of India, where food and beautiful women were plentiful. I could barely maintain my composure but was able to serve myself a hearty helping of exquisite Indian food. I covered my rice with a rich, euphoric waterfall of masala sauce. When I bit into the first bite, the feeling I had was indescribable, but as if somehow the memories of my childhood and first kiss were blended together in beautiful dream. I was barely able to snap out of it to see the waiter bring me some fresh naan with butter which literally floated down to my plate and then melted in my mouth. When I was too full to eat anymore I began to sob. The kind man from before assured me we'd be welcomed back to this paradise with open arms. If the economy was better I would eat every meal here. After eating here a few times now, my doctor has been shocked to find the cancer I suffer from is now in remission. India house cured my cancer. I'm thinking about moving to India."

A few of my favorites are Okra(bhindi), Kandi Chicken, and naturna korma. I have not experienced one bad dish since I started coming to India house on a regular basis. If your lucky enough to catch the buffet in time youll spend only $10 on the best all you can eat buffet in town. At only 10 bucks anyone can afford it. I great fair price for at least 8 different kinds of dishes and as much naan bread as you can eat. This restaurant is definetly worth checking out. THe food is amazing and the service is outstanding. So grab some friends and go dine at the best restaurant in sacramento! "

I was really impressed by the food quality and service. I would rate that 10 out of 10. Number of food items are great we had the excellent lunch having more then 10 items to taste. The best part of the lunch I liked the fresh baked Naan. It was so delicious that I could not resist my tempatation. I used to live in England, so I'm used to authentic Indian food, and I'm also used to pretty authentic food from Los Angeles and Orange County. I enjoy complex flavors, love strong aromas, and can handle extremely spicy levels, so I expect a lot out of Indian food that claims to be "authentic." I'll happily sacrifice ambiance, service, and presentation for some good food. Well, let's start with the positives: service was great, and after being seated, food arrived promptly and the server was warm and polite. That's it. Now to the negatives: we waited a good 10-15 minutes to be seated because an employee was no where in sight, so we seated ourselves, and to decide if we were even going to stay, we began to look at a menu we found on a nearby table. The dishes were a little over priced, especially for the caliber of the venue. The server was very jovial and friendly; he let us know that the restaurant was voted best in Folsom 2008, but he also chatted very loudly on his cell phone during the entire time we were there. We ordered our entrees and requested a heat level of 8. We started with some samosas--average in flavor, average presentation--accompanied by a tamarind and a cilantro sauce, both sauces were average as well. Entrees arrived shortly after: the lamb in a coconut milk based sauce was too creamy and very bland with only a slightly detectable heat factor, I would say it had a heat level of 1, and the lamb was rubbery. The chicken in a red curry sauce was only slightly spicy, I would say a heat level of 2, and was also bland (with the exception of a few fennel seeds disperesed in there) and the chicken was rubbery. Rice was average, the garlic naan was too buttery and had the texture of pizza crust. Indian restaurants usually provide an assortment of various kinds of chutney, tamarind sauces, mango sauces, yogurt based sauces, and chilli sauces to customize your flavors, but this one did not. I requested a little something to kick up the heat, and I got a plate of JALAPENO peppers, red onions, cilantro, and cucumber covered in salt and pepper, which proved to be useless. This food is NOT authentic. The service was great, but the food is very americanized. Good for a palette that hasn't experienced real Indian food I guess, but not for me."

I have never been dissatisfied with the quality of the food. This is a family run business (Dad at the front of the house and Mom and Son in the back) that devotes a great deal of attention to customer care. From the outset, you are greeted like a member of the family. They are genuine in their desire to ensure that you have a pleasant dining experience. Just ask and the answer is likely to be "Yes!" The employees here and friendly and provide nice service. If you go here, I'd recommend their Masala Dosa. It is probably the best I've ever had and being a person that eats Indian food everyday, that is saying a lot! Their meat recipes are also delicious. We ordered Veg Biriyani, Navratam Korma, Chicken Marsala, Naan. It was mostly frozen vegetable on the veg biriyani, could have been much better. We asked for spicy Chicken marsala, but it was sweet. Navratan korma also had mostly frozen vegetables. Garlic Naan was good and fresh. Food (side dish) was not very good and wouldn't recommend it. I would like to see significant improvement in the food quality and taste before i visit this place again. Would recommend to put fresh cut vegetable instead of dumping frozen cut vegetables."

We savored Chicken Tikka and Paneer Makhni on our first visit and my husband and I think the food is awesome! Garlic Nan was served as bread and it was one of the best we've ever had. We love Indian food and were excited to see a new place opening in Folsom because we were disappointed in the other local Indian restaurant. If you enjoy the flavor please go back as the service is getting better with time. If you happen to be there when the owner Dr. Pasumarthy is there he will welcome any suggestion you have for improvment. If he is not there, speak with BJ, the main waiter. They are friendly and will make compensations if you feel you had poor service or bad food. This is a new location but will surely make it. We go there at least twice a month if not once a week. If you want it spicy, ask for spicy...I'd be willing to bet you wont be able to finish it!!!!"

We had a hard time finding it (all we knew was it was near but not in Broadstone) so phoned. A very helpful man on the phone guided us in. Service started off great and we LOVED the food. I've had Indian food in several countries/cities (alas! not yet India), and some of the dishes were the best I've had anywhere. The server was very knowledgeable about the ingredients and cooking styles -- this is important to me because I have gluten intolerance and must not eat wheat, rye, oats, and barley. We particularly liked the Sambar (soup) with Dosa (huge and crispy). The Lamb Saag was incredibly good. The Novratana Korma was a "miss" with us, since it had marashino cherries and pineapple chunks that we're not accustomed to in this dish. The service was inconsistent with no perceptible reason. It was great when we started, but by the time we left, the service had degraded to "pretty much ignored". I think they're just a young restaurant showing the same inconsistencies we've seen with other young restaurants. We're going back tonight. "

Only took about 10-15 mins. I ordered the Chicken Curry dinner which comes with a ton of food. One order fed me and my husband. I ordered mine medium spicy and it was very full in flavor. The only problem is that this dish was sooooo overly oily that I had to strain the chicken. Also the oil doesn't keep up with the to go boxes. By the time I took the short 1 mile drive it had leaked thru and was a big mess. Next time I will order very light oil. "
